British actress Sheridan Smith has thrown her support behind her ex-boyfriend James Corden, insisting she is "incredibly proud" to see him start a family and find success in the U.S.
The Gavin & Stacey co-stars ended their romance in 2009 and Corden went on to find love with his fiancee Julia Carey, the mother of his baby son Max.
Smith reveals she is still on good terms with her former partner and is very happy to see him find happiness and international fame thanks to his award-winning stint on Broadway in One Man, Two Guvnors.
She tells British newspaper the Sunday Telegraph, "Things don’t always work out in terms of relationships, but I loved the time that I had with James. You meet someone, you love them for a time and, if it doesn’t end badly - which it didn’t with us - then you always want the best for them. And I do always want James to be happy.
"He’s got a beautiful baby now and a lovely fiancee and he just won a Tony Award for One Man, Two Guvnors on Broadway. I’m incredibly proud of him and I’ll always, always have a lot of love for him."
