LATEST: Footage of Sheryl Crow's alleged stalker shocked jurors in his ongoing court case yesterday (24NOV04) when police showed him unkempt and raving shortly after his arrest.

Ambrose Kappos, 38, is accused of stalking and burglary after allegedly breaking into the dressing room of New York's Hammerstein Ballroom, where Crow was performing in October 2003.

Kappos' legal team are trying to convince a jury in New York that the former Navy diver was never a threat to Crow, but the damning new videotape seems to suggest otherwise.

Released to TV news networks, a bearded Kappos appears frantically trying to explain to investigators how he wooed the rocker telepathically .

Swearing, Kappos tells police, "If you think I'm totally crazy and deluded, man, then you need to lock me up."

He goes on to describe a fantasy conversation with Crow about wedding plans.

He says, "I said, 'Sheryl, you know, I'm not going to be able to buy you a ring, baby.' And she said, 'Don't worry about that.'"

Kappos is free on bail throughout the Thanksgiving holiday and he's living in New York with his mother.
