British actress Sienna Miller has reportedly signed up for a decidedly childish-sounding movie she will be appearing in the GI Joe film.
The Interview star is to play the thriller's female lead, "a raven-haired baroness and sexy femme fatale skilled in espionage", according to Variety.
Stephen Sommers, of The Mummy and Van Helsing fame, is to direct the live-action flick based on the Hasbro toys, following the box office success of Transformers, with Paramount Studios setting a mid-February shooting date ahead of an August 27th, 2009 release.
And Sommers will be working with a brunette well, she will be for this part English actress for the third time, after directing Rachel Weisz in Egyptian adventure The Mummy and Kate Beckinsale in the unintentionally hilarious Van Helsing.
The story tells of the Brussels-based GI Joe the Global Integrated Joint Operated Entity who travel across the globe with substantial weaponry to battle Cobra, an evil organisation led by a dastardly Scottish arms dealer.
The action role should be somewhat of a departure for Miller, having starred opposite Steve Buscemi in indie remake Interview, as well as recently completing production on low-key romance The Mysteries of Pittsburgh, Dylan Thomas biopic The Edge of Love and 60s comedy Hippie Hippie Shake.
While no male lead has been cast, it is thought that Australian actor Sam Worthington is in talks.
