Movie actress Sigourney Weaver is planning to take to the stage in London's West End after being impressed by the success Christian Slater and Kim Cattrall have enjoyed in the British capital.

The ALIEN star is currently starring on New York's Broadway in political comedy MRS FARNSWORTH - directed by her husband JIM SIMPSON - and the play's producers have already visited London to secure a suitable venue.

A theatre insider says, "The plan is for the play to come to London in about six months' time, with Sigourney playing the lead, opposite JOHN LITHGOW.

"Sigourney was struck by how successful Kim Cattrall and Christian Slater have been over here - and naturally she wants a piece of the action. Her husband is directing the play, so they are both committed to coming over to live in London together for a while."
