Pixie Lott wants to be an 'X Factor' judge.

The 23-year-old singer - who is currently competing on rival show 'Strictly Come Dancing' - was a guest panelist at the 2010 auditions and would love to return to the ITV programme on a permanent basis.

She told Closer magazine: ''I was there the year they formed One Direction. Doing the show was something totally different to what I'd ever done before and it'd be great to do it again if Simon [Cowell] asked me back.

''I'd never met Simon before but had a laugh and Louis Walsh is hilarious.''

She continued: ''Cheryl [Fernandez-Versini] was great to work with and really looked after me, but it was around the time of her malaria and she'd been really unwell.''

Pixie is pleased that Simon and Cheryl have returned to the show this year as she thinks they have given it a much-needed ''lift''.

She said: ''The show needed a lift so it's great that Cheryl and Simon are back to freshen it up.''

Meanwhile, the blonde beauty is working hard in 'Strictly' rehearsals and though preparations are tough, one advantage is not having to watch what she eats.

She said: ''This is the most exercise I've done in ages. It means I'm keeping off the weight and staying in shape. I don't think I've lost any weight but it means I can eat whatever I want.''
