Simon Le Bon was devastated after throat problems forced him to scrap Duran Duran's summer (11) concerts - because he realised he's "not good at anything else" but singing.
The group's frontman was ordered to rest his damaged vocal cords in May (11), prompting the Rio hitmakers to call off a series of shows.
Le Bon subsequently underwent months of therapy for his voice, and admits the recovery process reaffirmed his love for performing.
He says, "It was demoralising. It made me think about life and what it's all about and how much I appreciate having a voice.
"It's never happened before in 30 years and I realised I'm not good at anything else. I need to sing. For it to happen on stage was the worst thing, right in the middle of a set."
Now Le Bon feels ready to get back to the stage with his bandmates, adding, "We're back doing the (postponed) U.K. dates in December and I just can't wait."
