Comedian Sinbad has declared himself bankrupt with more than $10 million (£6.5 million) in debts, according to a U.S. report.

The Jingle All The Way star, real name David Adkins, filed for bankruptcy last month (Apr13), claiming he has just $131,000 (£85,000) in assets but owes $10.9 million (£7 million) to firms including American Express and Bank of America.

According to legal documents, obtained by Tmz.com, Sinbad also has unpaid state and federal taxes stemming from 2009 to 2012.

The funnyman argues he can no longer afford to pay off his bills, despite earning $16,000 (£10,300)-a-month.

It is the second time Sinbad has filed for bankruptcy - his case in 2009 was dismissed after he failed to file the correct paperwork.
