Dave Grohl has Brian May's trousers hanging on his wall.

The Foo Fighters frontman - who has daughters Violet, four, and 22-month-old Harper with wife Jordyn - recorded his band's new album in his home studio and was thrilled when the former Queen rocker left behind an unexpected souvenir when he came to collaborate on a track.

Dave told Elle magazine: "Those are Brian May's pants. We hang them up like mistletoe. Brian came to play on the record and he shows up at the studio wearing running shorts, socks and sneaker, with two huge bags. So he put the bags down and sys, 'I'm going to change my clothes', then comes back in these Mc Hammer pants, plays the lead, hangs out and then had to split.

"An hour later, he called and said, 'You guys, I left one of my bags in the room, just leave it there and I'll come back and get it.'

"So I was like, 'OK, hung up the phone and looked in there. And there they were."

Dave recently admitted he wouldn't let his younger daughter wear some baby clothes she was given as a gift by Sir Paul McCartney.

He said: "He wanted to give my wife and I a gift for my newborn baby. So he brought some baby clothes.

"And we noticed that they were from a store that's kinda near where we live, so the next time Jordyn was in the store she said, 'Paul McCartney ordered some stuff for our kid from this store.'

"And the guy was like, 'No, no, no, Paul came in and he picked it out by himself!' So our kid's not allowed to wear those clothes, ever! We've framed them, she's not getting them!'"
