Sir Paul McCartney is in negotiations to help Peru celebrate the centenary of the discovery of the country's famous MAChu Picchu citadel - with a historic Lima show.
Sources claim negotiations to bring the ex-Beatles star to Peru are going well, and a concert at Monumental Stadium is expected at the end of May (11) as the nation prepares to celebrate the 100th anniversary of explorer Hiram Bingham's discovery of the forgotten ruin.
Meanwhile, Colombian promoter Juan Ospina has revealed that plans for a 2011 McCartney show in Colombia have fallen through.
Ospina says, "He will not arrive in Colombia, but I just got the scoop that he will be playing at Monumental Stadium in Lima and the National Stadium in Chile. Then, he will perform two shows in Maracana Stadium (in Brazil)."
Meanwhile, the president of the Board of the National Tourism in Peru, Carlos Canales, has confirmed a MCCartney concert will be a part of the celebration of the centenary of MAChu Picchu's discovery.
MCCartney has yet to confirm the South African dates.
