Slayer have suffered another blow to their tour plans after frontman Tom Araya was hospitalised moments before the heavy rockers were due onstage in Sydney, Australia on Sunday (27Feb11).
The thrash metal stars had to axe their set at the touring Soundwave Festival at late notice when Araya was admitted to a medical centre with an unknown illness.
However, the singer is expected to return to the stage alongside Iron Maiden, Slash and Queens of the Stone Age for the next date on the trek - Soundwave promoter AJ Maddah has confirmed he "will be OK" for the Melbourne stop on 4 March (11).
Araya's hospitalisation is the latest health woe to hit the band - guitarist Jeff Hanneman recently had to pull out of Slayer's tour after being hospitalised with a nasty flesh-eating disease.
Hanneman has been temporarily replaced on the road by Exodus star Gary Holt.
