Rockers Slipknot are "in a state of anger and sadness" after late bandmate Paul Gray's doctor was charged with involuntary manslaughter relating to the bassist's death two years ago.
Physician Daniel Baldi, from Des Moines, Iowa, was on Wednesday (05Sep12) hit with eight counts of prescribing narcotic painkillers to patients who later died of an overdose. Gray, 38, was found dead in his Iowa motel room in May 2010 after suffering an accidental drug overdose.
Slipknot star Shawn Crahan was among nine people interviewed during an official investigation, and a new statement issued from the band details their "anger and sadness" following the latest development.
It reads, "As the loss of our brother Paul Gray is still very fresh for us in the Slipknot family, this new development has us all in a state of anger and sadness. We can only hope that justice will be served...
"Our thoughts go out to the families of the other victims. We plan to cooperate as much as we possibly can to ensure this tragedy is never repeated."
