Universal's Denzel Washington/Mark Wahlberg action flick 2 Guns is likely to give Sony's The Smurfs 2 a serious case of the blues this weekend. Box office pundits, citing the latest tracking studies, indicate that 2 Guns, which reportedly cost $80-90 million to produce, should debut with around $30 million -- about $10 million more than The Smurfs 2. The principal problem for the little blue creatures (aside from terrible reviews) is that a glut of animated family films has preceded them -- a problem that Turbo, which debuted two weeks ago, also has had to deal with. Both of those films, however, are likely to perform better overseas, where the summer's family films have been spaced out more attentively. Oh, and another animated family film, Planes, is due in theaters in two weeks.
