Reunited rockers Soundgarden are refusing to "stress" about the band's comeback album, because pressure of recording previous material led to the group splitting up.
The band, which got back together in 2011 for the first time since their 1997 split, is currently performing shows across the globe, and returned to the U.K. for the first time in 15 years on Sunday (10Jun12) to play the Download festival.
They are working on a new record, their first since 1996's Down on the Upside, but frontman Chris Cornell is adamant they won't be rushing to finish the project.
He tells Britain's Daily Star, "One of the things, I think, that got us to the point of deciding to split up was the cyclical time frame where we were committing to tours to support an album that hadn't been written yet.
"So it's important to us that if we're going to do this new album, we do it in our own time and not stress out about it."
