Spice Girls musical Viva Forever! is reportedly getting a complete makeover before moving to Broadway, following a slew of scathing reviews.

Viva Forever!, which incorporates the Spice Girls' hits, has struggled with slow ticket sales after being branded a flop by critics when it debuted in London's West End in December (12).

However, producer Judy Craymer, the brains behind hit stage show Mamma Mia!, has agreed to rewrite the show, which is set to be transferred to New York.

A source tells Britain's Daily Mirror, "Judy is doing all she can to make it sharper and funnier. There will also be a few major set reworkings, giving Viva Forever! a fresher feel."

The musical has also extended its West End run until next February (14).
