The Spice Girls played a concert to a half empty auditorium in Las Vegas on Monday night (10Dec07) - contradicting boasts their world tour was completely sold out. Almost half the seats in the Mandalay Arena were deserted when the group took to the stage for their second show in the city. The band will play a series of live dates across the globe - including 17 shows at London's O2 Arena in January (08) - and conclude with a second leg in North America. It is not the first disappointment for the group - their comeback single Headlines (Friendship Never Ends) only entered the U.K. charts at number 10, which was their lowest ever position in the music listings.

I must say that this story is in fact rubbish. I was at the second Spice Girls show at Mandalay Bay which was SUNDAY-not Monday night and the arena was at least 90-95% full. There were three shows at Mandalay Bay:Saturday Dec8, Sunday Dec9 and Tuesday Dec11. Once again the arena was NOT HALF FULL, but at least 90-95% full.
