Staind bassist Johnny April has donated $150,000 (£93,750) to an ambulance firm in Massachusetts to make sure residents always have access to an emergency vehicle.
The It's Been Awhile hitmaker, who hails from the Northeastern state, cut the massive cheque to bosses at Highland Ambulance after learning the organisation was struggling to find funds to replace its current 1998 model, which is nearing the end of its lifetime.
Director Michael Rock is grateful for the rocker's generosity, telling local publication The Recorder of Greenfield, April's gift was a "godsend".
The company services a total of six towns, including the musician's current place of residence Goshen, and fields about 550 calls a year.
