In the absence of new Star Trek adventures, fans have taken to shooting their own episodes and broadcasting them on the internet. With no plans currently in place to continue the cult sci-fi TV show and its spin-off movie franchise, fans around the globe have decided to create their own CAPTAIN KIRK storylines. The craze has become so popular that DC FONTANA, one of the original Star Trek writers, has penned an episode for a New York City-based amateur production group. New Voyages, which claims to have had 30 million hits on its website from devoted Trekkies, has also persuaded actor GEORGE TAKEI - better known as SULU - to make a guest appearance in an episode.
