Pirated DVDs of the new Star Wars: EPISODE III - REVENGE OF THE SITH movie have been seized in Malaysia, only days after the sci-fi epic premiered across the world.

George Lucas' final masterpiece in the space saga opened internationally on Thursday (19MAY05), with pirate copies flooding the black markets in Malaysia and China within hours.

Malaysia's information ministry said police seized 500,000 discs, including copies of Revenge Of The Sith, from a Kuala Lumpur warehouse on Friday (20MAY05). The DVDs were awaiting shipment to North America and Europe.

Meanwhile in China, unauthorised discs of the film are being sold on market stalls across the country for only $0.85 (GBP0.44).
