Stella Mccartney launched her second collection for Gap Kids yesterday (16.03.10).

The fashion designer was joined by a host of her celebrity friends, including Kate Moss, Meg Matthews and Sharleen Spiteri, at London's Porchester Hall as she showcased her latest range.

Stripey knits, denim shirts, flowery jackets and checked jackets were among the fashions for children next season, which will be available from Gap stores next month.

The youngsters modelling the clothes were entertained with balloon animals, jelly and cake and a robot photo shoot booth.

The designer herself was looking extra stylish in a black cropped trouser suit but it was back to her day job today (17.03.10) as the mother-of-three was pictured in more casual attire as she did the school run.

Stella launched her first children's range for Gap last year and said it was something she had been wanting to do for a long time.

She said: "For years now I've wanted to create a collection for kids.

"I think this collection has a mix of the playful and practical. It's a reflection of my brand, there are pieces that are classic and very sort of timeless and hopefully very chic, and then there are pieces that are the kind you chuck in the washing machine and they get better with time and, you know, they are funny and hopefully a little bit cool."
