Actor Stephen Baldwin has criticised Bono's crusade against poverty in Africa, insisting the U2 singer should preach Christianity instead. The Usual Suspects actor, who is a born-again Christian, is convinced the world can only heal itself by following the teachings of Jesus Christ. The 40-year-old writes of Bono in his upcoming autobiography THE UNUSUAL SUSPECT: MY CALLING TO THE NEW HARDCORE MOVEMENT OF FAITH, "You would do far more good if you just preached the gospel of Jesus rather than trying to get rid of Third World debt relief."

We can read and learn to help Stephen Baldwin through faith in our lord Jesus christ.Genesis 18A Son Promised to Sarah 1The LORD appeared again to Abraham while he was camped near the oak grove belonging to Mamre. One day about noon, as Abraham was sitting at the entrance to his tent, 2he suddenly noticed three men standing nearby. He got up and ran to meet them, welcoming them by bowing low to the ground. 3"My lord," he said, "if it pleases you, stop here for a while. 4Rest in the shade of this tree while my servants get some water to wash your feet. 5Let me prepare some food to refresh you. Please stay awhile before continuing on your journey." "All right," they said. "Do as you have said." 6So Abraham ran back to the tent and said to Sarah, "Quick! Get three measures[a] of your best flour, and bake some bread." 7Then Abraham ran out to the herd and chose a fat calf and told a servant to hurry and butcher it. 8When the food was ready, he took some cheese curds and milk and the roasted meat, and he served it to the men. As they ate, Abraham waited on them there beneath the trees. 9"Where is Sarah, your wife?" they asked him. "In the tent," Abraham replied. 10Then one of them said, "About this time next year I will return, and your wife Sarah will have a son." Now Sarah was listening to this conversation from the tent nearby. 11And since Abraham and Sarah were both very old, and Sarah was long past the age of having children, 12she laughed silently to herself. "How could a worn-out woman like me have a baby?" she thought. "And when my master--my husband--is also so old?" 13Then the LORD said to Abraham, "Why did Sarah laugh? Why did she say, `Can an old woman like me have a baby?' 14Is anything too hard for the LORD? About a year from now, just as I told you, I will return, and Sarah will have a son." 15Sarah was afraid, so she denied that she had laughed. But he said, "That is not true. You did laugh."

Absolute truth in every word Mr. Baldwin says! If only all of Africa would follow Uganda's example. Uganda has given themselves as a people to Jesus Christ and the miracles abound there. Those stories you don't hear everyday, but Gos is doing a mighty work among the people. Thank you Mr. Baldwin!

Stephen Baldwin, if he is truly a Christian, should listen to the teachings of Jesus, who said that we should not judge others. Jesus also said that we would recognize other Christians by their WORKS, not their words. I would suggest he read Matthew 25:34-45; especially verse 40: "Inasmuch as ye have done it [fed, clothed, housed] unto one of the least of these, ye have done it unto me." When Bono, and others, feed and clothe people, and try to rebuild their lives, they are doing it for God. Only God knows what is in Bono's heart - not Stephen Baldwin, nor any of us. And Bono has in fact written Christian music; in case Mr. Baldwin didn't "get it" "Pride (In the Name of Love)" is about as Christian as a song can get. I have yet to see Mr. Baldwin take care of "his brethren" - I've only seen him tout his book about his transformation; and who benefits from sales of the book? Those in need, or Baldwin himself? Witnessing may be important, but without action it's meaningless. Jesus also spoke out against the Pharisees for how they spoke of their great faith and piety in public, so that others would see; he told us to pray at home, alone with God. So maybe Stephen Baldwin should read that Book that he claims has changed his life, and work on his own life before criticizing others.

I'm a "born-again" believer working in Christian missions and unfortunately too many in the church have this gnostic view, pitting preaching against poverty, "spiritual" against "physical" The article sets up a false dichotomy... and unfortunately it's a cliché. ///IMO, the genuine Christian response is to BOTH (1) preach and; (2) love with relief works. You can't just do one or the other. //// How about we keep people around long enough so they can hear the news that Christ took away their sin... so they don't just die without knowing./////Children in coffins aren't going to do a lot of repenting and trusting in Christ for salvation.---Baldwin isn't the first to be critical of Bono's approach... Mr Baldwin...I am an American Citizen who recently traveled to Kenya with an Irish Foundation, Self Help, to take field trips thru the Rift Valley to see how one's donations are making a difference...what I witnessed was astonishing. Depending on the visit/s for the day, The Irish & one Texan [me] could have viewed different religions but a great abundance of Christianity. Before every meet & greet with the farmers or villagers the was always a prayer of Christ and they would close with a prayer of Christ. The locals also prayed before and after meals. Speaking on behalf of what I witnessed, Christianity is strong in East Africa. Bono is doing the right thing. My group & I ran across so many children and adults whose only hope is to think that maybe the vsitors will purchase something handmade for as small as a 100 Schillings. Mr. Baldwin that is [at the time of the currency exchange]less than a dollar. Mr Baldwin travel to Africa and then come home and tell me that your life is still in the process of shaping. I know mine is taking new shape everyday since then. A current trekker with me said it best..'It has to be seen to be believed, to be experienced to be understood', Dungarvan man Ger Enright told 2FM's Rick O'Shea afternoon radio show.

Sounds like another nobody trying to become famous by trying to knock others down. Bono certainly doesn't need his advice. Lots of people have critized Bono over the years, mainly from jealousy, but Bono always rises above it and forgives, and always just gets bigger and better!

I agree with Rollo also, Baldwin and Bill Richards the owner of Charity Bevergae USA are just taking money from people and not even delivering product. Richards was arrested 2 years ago for it in Bergen County NJ, the guy has MANY lawsuits aginst him also.He is paying Baldwin to be a Front Man/Promoter, using Baldwins name as credibility. Also all those pix of celebs and politicians on the website are just another part of the scam. They say they are Christians but they are just wolves in sheeps clothing. Richards does not care who he tramples along the way. When Richards gets a call from a an irrate Distributor he gives them the "Big Picture" pitch about how the company is going to grow and then he gives them 10% of the company to shut them up, he,s done that more then 10 times.....do the math. Baldwin must not be listening to God or he sure wouldn't give Richards the time of day!!

Ask Stephen Baldwin about his support of the company Charity Beverage USA. Apparently with his full endorsement the ceo has taken $ 1.6 from good people, in the name of charity and not supported them in their endevor of making money for charity. This born again Christian should pay attention to his own affairs before pointing fingers.
