Former Stereophonics drummer STUART CABLE has been found dead at his home in Wales. He was 40.
Emergency services were called to the star's property in Llwydcoed near Aberdare, Cynon Valley in the early hours of Monday morning (07Jun10), but he was pronounced dead at the scene. His cause of death was not known as WENN went to press.
The musician-turned-media personality hosted his rock show on BBC Radio Wales as usual on Saturday (05Jun10).
The rocker's family has confirmed the sad news and his mother Mabel has told of her devastation following her beloved son's shock death.
She says, "Stuart has travelled all over the world with the band and I have worried myself silly. He is now settled down and then this has happened. It has not sunk in yet."
His brother Paul adds, "The family has no further comment to make at this stage. It is in the hands of the police."
Cable was part of the original Stereophonics line-up when they formed in 1992 and spent more than a decade with the band before he was sacked in 2003, following a bust-up with bandmates over the time he was dedicating to his burgeoning media career.
Cable went on to forge a successful radio and TV career, as well as drumming for Welsh band Killing for Company.
