Former SEX PISTOLS star Steve Jones is surprising radio listeners in Los Angeles, after taking the airwaves as a popular DJ.

The controversial British guitarist seems an unlikely choice as a live broadcaster - in December 1976 he infamously called UK TV presenter BILL GRUNDY a "f***ing rotter" - but his show has become a resounding success.

And his programme, JONESY'S JUKEBOX on local station INDIE 103.1, is receiving positive feedback.

The 48-year-old says, "It's a great job. When they approached me, I told them I'm not gonna do it if it's like other radio stations - playing a set of songs. None of that b****ks.

"Three weeks later I was on the air. The only thing I can't do is swear."

Programme producer MARK SLOVEL says, "We expected him to be controversial - being a Sex Pistol - but he's turned out to be charming and hilarious."
