Steven Tyler was forced to cancel an Aerosmith concert in Paraguay on Tuesday evening (25th October 2011) after injuring himself in the shower. According to Paraguayan newspaper ABC, the 63-year-old slipped in bathroom at the Bourbon Hotel in Asuncion and was quickly rushed to hospital.
The American Idol judge suffered a series of nasty cuts to his forehead and knocked out two teeth. After arriving at the hospital about 2.10pm, the singer underwent a CT scan before being discharged around four hours later. Although he walked out of the hospital himself, it is understood Tyler was in no condition to perform and cancelled the Aerosmith concert at the Jockey Club later that night. It's not the first time the singer has been forced to cancel a show through injury - in 2009, he fell off the stage while performing 'Love in an Elevator' and was flown to hospital. Tweeting on Tuesday, his daughter Mia thanked fans for their concerns, saying, "Thank you for all the love regarding my dad and his accident. He is recovering and doing much better. I will pass on all the well wishes".
The concert, rescheduled for Wednesday (26th October 2011), is expected to attract over 50,000 fans. It's the second show on the band's current tour of South America, which moves into Argentina on Friday, before heading to Brazil and Panama.
