Rocker Steven Tyler has broken his silence after becoming a grandfather again, revealing he made it to the hospital just before his daughter Liv's baby boy was born.

The 37-year-old actress gave birth to her second son on Wednesday (11Feb15), and her dad was there to witness the delivery.

He tells JustJared.com, "When I got the call that Liv was going into labour, after crying like a baby myself, I immediately dropped everything and went to the airport to get on the next available flight...

"When I landed I kept calling my daughter Mia, who was already helping Liv, and she kept giving me minute by minute updates: 'Hurry, the baby is coming!' I made it right in time before my second grandson entered this world. It was another God wink moment of a lifetime for me."

Liv's newborn is her first with partner Dave Gardner - the actress has a 10-year-old son, called Milo, from her marriage to rocker Royston Langdon. Soccer agent Gardner also has a seven-year-old son from his marriage to British actress Davinia Taylor.

Meanwhile, Liv's actress pal Kate Hudson has offered her congratulations to the new mum, posting a photograph of herself and Tyler from the Armageddon star's first pregnancy with the caption: "to (sic) many years ago when @misslivalittle was preggers with Milo. Yesterday (she) welcomed a new baby boy! Congrats mama, I love you Shpooops!"

Liv and Kate attended the same high school and were castmates in 2000 movie Dr. T & the Women. The actresses also teamed up backstage on 2001's Brotherly Love Tour when Hudson's then-husband Chris Robinson was touring with his band The Black Crowes, Oasis and Langdon's group Spacehog.
