British touring partners Sting and Annie Lennox have chosen to steer clear of politics on their current American tour because they think their opinions are irrelevant.

The pair were invited to join acts including Bruce Springsteen and REM on the VOTE FOR CHANGE tour, which will precede the presidential elections in November (04), but both decided not to get involved because they're UK citizens.

Sting says, "It wouldn't be our place to do that. We're guests in this country and we don't have a vote. Some of my friends are on that tour and I think it's laudable what they're doing."
