The Stone Roses are the overwhelming favourites to headline Glastonbury when the legendary festival returns in 2013. During a press conference in London on Tuesday (18th October 2011) the influential Manchester band announced they are reuniting for a world tour and possible third album.
After the original line-up gathered in London to announce the reunion, Irish bookmaker Paddy Power began offering odds on the band's comeback - the Roses are 6/4 favourites to headline Glastonbury 2013. Speaking at this year's festival, organiser Michael Eavis told reporters he already had the headlines lined up for two years' time, saying, "We've already got three headliners lined up for 2013. I know who they all are, but I'm not going to go into details about that". It is assumed the Stone Roses reunion has been planned for several months, meaning the band could in theory have signed up to headline the festival in 2013. Elsewhere, the group are 11/10 favourites to headline the Coachella festival in 2012, while fans can get 3/1 on the group returning with a Christmas No. 1 single. For those who prefer an outside bet, Paddy Power is offering 10/1 that the band appears as guest performers on this year's Uk X Factor competition.
The group will kick off their reunion with two homecoming shows at Manchester's Heaton Park on 29th June and 30th June 2011, followed by a world tour.
