The Stone Temple Pilots Have Been Given The Green Light To Change Their Name After Ending A Legal Battle With Former Frontman Scott Weiland.
The singer became locked in a nasty legal battle with his former colleagues after he was kicked out of the group in 2013 and replaced by Linkin Park's Chester Bennington.
Weiland sued in a bid to stop them using the band's name without him, so they became known as Stone Temple Pilots With Chester Bennington.
The singer recently confirmed the legal battle had been resolved, and now the band has been allowed to drop the addition to their title and go back to being Stone Temple Pilots.
Bennington tells AltWire.net, "It'll be fun to go out as just Stone Temple Pilots. That's exciting, because it really bothered me to see 'Stone Temple Pilots with Chester Bennington.' So I'm glad that's gone and glad that that's over."
