Aaron Taylor-Johnson and his wife Sam schedule their careers around their children.

The 'Kick-Ass 2' star says he and his 46-year-old spouse try to make sure at least one parent is available to look after their four daughters - including Wylda Rae, three, and 18-month-old Romy Hero, as well as two children from Sam's previous marriage - while the other is working.

He explained to BANG Showbiz: ''We travel as a family. We made a decision a long time ago that's how we're gonna do it. The last thing I wanna do is be separated from my wife and kids. It's important that one of us is with the kids.''

Aaron recently filmed a remake of 'Godzilla' while Sam looked after the children, but now she has signed on to direct the eagerly anticipated big screen version of 'Fifty Shades of Grey', the 23-year-old actor will take a break from acting.

He said: ''She's taken on this movie so I've stepped back from taking any other offers. I do one thing a year and that thing can be anything from three- to-six months. Luckily for me, we get the luxury of having a lot more time [off] than most people do.''

The Hollywood star admits it's tough to juggle his career and children, but he is happy to have struck a balance.

He added: ''You balance it like anything good. We travel as a family and we set up home and schools, and make it as secure as possible for the little ones. It's all about family and being together and it's grounding [for the kids]. We don't ever travel anywhere without each other.''

'Kick-Ass 2' is in cinemas now.
