Amy Adams is ''still caught up in the whirlwind'' of making 'American Hustle'.

The star was stunned to pick up the Best Actress in a Musical or Comedy award at last night's (12.01.14) Golden Globe awards in Hollywood, particularly as she only finished making the film recently and it is still a fresh experience for her.

Speaking of her win, she told E! News: ''It's not what I'm used to. It's great. We haven't even been done filming a year. We finished filming, like, nine months ago, so we're still in the whirlwind of making the film, and here we are celebrating it, getting these amazing accolades.''

'American Hustle' - directed by David O. Russell - took home three Golden Globes, with Jennifer Lawrence awarded Best Supporting Actress (Musical or Comedy) and the film named Best Motion Picture (Comedy).

In her acceptance speech, Jennifer said: ''I don't know why it's so terrifying it's obviously a good thing. Thank you to my family and my team, thank you so much.''

Meanwhile, speaking ahead of the ceremony, David compared awards season to his favourite sport, baseball.

He said: ''It is a blessing if you're even in the game. You do have to get through every inning. This is an important inning. Anything can happen, you just have to believe in your picture from the heart.''
