Lostprophets' music has been banned by Britain's Bbc following frontman Ian Watkins' conviction on child sex charges.

The group split just weeks before the singer pleaded guilty to a string of sickening sex offences, including the attempted rape of a baby, which landed him a 35-year prison sentence.

Prior to Watkins' admission, reports suggested the band's albums had been pulled from the shelves of U.K. music chain Hmv, and now it has emerged Bbc bosses have banned the songs from the playlists of all the corporation's radio stations and Tv shows.

A Bbc spokesman tells Britain's Daily Mirror newspaper, "There are no plans to broadcast any Lostprophets songs."

Watkins was sentenced at Cardiff Crown Court in Wales last month (Dec13).
