Scottish rocker Ben Johnston has hit out at pop stars Justin Bieber and One Direction for charging fans to meet them.
Dozens of singers, including Beyonce, have begun setting a fee for 'meet-and-greet' events, but the Biffy Clyro drummer is disgusted that wealthy musicians are bringing in even more cash by charging for a handshake and hello.
Johnston tells NME.com, "I think artists charging for meet-and-greets is absolutely appalling. I don't think you can put a price on meeting somebody, I think that is ridiculous. You get paid to perform and that makes sense but meeting somebody is just part of a job.
"You're meant to just be nice to people, what is five minutes or a minute to shake someone's hand. (I'm) so very much against that - I think it's horrible."
