Queen - Brian May Loans Victorian Photos To Gallery

Queen star Brian May has helped out bosses of a leading British art gallery by handing over his collection of Victorian 3D photographs for a new exhibition.

The veteran rocker is a big fan of the 19th Century camera craze and he was happy to loan 26 images from his personal archives to organisers of a new display at London's Tate Britain.

They will go on show alongside reproductions of the original photos as part of the A Poor Man's Picture Gallery exhibition, which launches next month (Oct14).

Snappers in the U.K.'s Victorian era created a 3D effect by using two overlapping images.

May first became interested in the technique as a boy when food manufacturers gave away 3D images in cereal packets.
