Britney Spears fell for her boyfriend David Lucado after experiencing an "instant" connection with him when they first met at a party.

The Toxic hitmaker has been dating the Virginia native for the past eight months, but has kept tight-lipped about her newest relationship.

On Tuesday (03Dec13), she opened up to U.S. chat show host Ellen DeGeneres, and gushed about the new man in her life.

She explained, "I met him at a party and my friends brought me up to him. I spent the rest of the party with him. I think it was instant... He's very passionate and he's funny and he's sexy. I don't know, I just like him - I love him."

Spears also confessed that she fell out with her leading man the night before her appearance on DeGeneres' show, admitting, "We were in a tiffy (argument) last night... It's his fault, of course. It's just he forgot to call me back for a really long time - like six hours - but we're fine now. We're totally fine."

The pop star was previously engaged to her former agent Jason Trawick, but they split in January (13) after three years together.

The break-up inspired Spears to write a track called Till It's Gone for her new album, Britney Jean, and the singer insists she felt good about finally airing her feelings.

Spears explains, "I think it's healthy. I think if you're ready to share that with the world, personal things like that, I think it's very therapeutic and good for you to do that."
