Carrie Underwood believes her husband is her ''most awesome accessory''.

The singer was overjoyed after she won Video of the Year at the Country Music Television Awards (CMT) in Nashville last night (04.06.14), and she was even more pleased that her ice hockey player spouse Mike Fisher was in the audience.

Speaking to PEOPLE.com, she said: ''It's pretty rare that he gets to go to an awards show with me. This show is not during the regular season for hockey, so it's nice to have that extra support.''

She added: ''It's nice to have a little man candy on my arm! He's my most awesome accessory.''

The blonde beauty, 31, and Mike have been married for nearly four years and she insists he's the only one that can calm her nerves before a big performance.

She explained: ''If I'm nervous, he'll be like, 'C'mon, you have nothing to be nervous about. Just go do what you do and take a deep breath and say a little prayer and you're good to go.' Just being able to get a little kiss and go about my way, it definitely has a calming effect.''
