Carrie Underwood finds it ''weird'' that she is pregnant.

The 'See You Again' singer announced earlier this month that she and her husband Mike Fisher are expecting their first child and the 31-year-old star admits the news still hasn't sunk in.

Speaking on the 'Today' show, she said: ''It's still kinda weird, to be honest.

''Sometimes I'll be with my husband, and it's like, I'm gonna be a mom. You're gonna be a dad. Is this real life? But we're really excited.''

The country singer is already looking to her own mother for inspiration on the type of parent she wants to be.

She said: ''I have a wonderful mother, so if I can be even a little bit like that, we'll be good.''

Meanwhile, the blonde beauty used her appearance on the programme to announce a new single, 'Something in the Water' and greatest hits collection.

She said: The song is called 'Something in the Water' and it's going to be a single off my greatest hits album, which will come out December 9...It's very uplifting.

''It's about changing your life for the better and having that 'aha moment' to waking up and your life being different from that moment forward.''

Carrie - who married hockey player Mike, 34, in 2010 - has previously admitted she wants more than one child but not too large a family.

She has said: ''Three is fine. Four? Somebody's getting something done, because we ain't having five!''
