Celine Dion's husband Rene Angelil has stepped down as her manager after more than 30 years.

The couple announced that entertainment executive Aldo Giampaolo, who has worked alongside them for 25 years, will step in as the boss of the Think Twice singer's management company Feeling Productions.

A statement reads, "It is with great pleasure and with the utmost confidence that Rene Angelil announces today that his long-time close friend, Aldo Giampaolo, has been appointed as chief executive officer of Feeling Productions Inc., the company which manages Celine Dion's career.

"Celine and Rene have decided that the time has come to bring this appointment to fruition, one that Rene had proposed to Aldo several years ago."

Angelil discovered Dion in 1981 when she was aged 12 and he helped make her a superstar. The 72 year old underwent surgery for throat cancer in December (14).

He will stay on as chairman of Feeling Productions.
