Cheryl Cole's mother approves of her new husband.

The 'Crazy Stupid Love' singer tied the knot with Jean-Bernard Fernandez-Versini in a secret ceremony earlier this month after less than three months of dating, but the whirlwind romance has the approval of her mum Joan Callaghan - who is said to have disliked her daughter's first husband Ashley Cole and been ''wary'' of her last boyfriend, Tre Holloway - as she hit it off instantly with the restaurateur.

A source told LOOK magazine: ''Joan adores him. He makes such an effort and talks endlessly with her.

''He's a great conversationalist and is brimming with confidence, which none of Cheryl's other boyfriends ever had.''

Meanwhile, Cheryl - who divorced Ashley in 2010 amid reports of his infidelity - is said to have been ''swept off her feet'' by her new spouse.

The source added: ''To say Cheryl's been swept off her feet would be an understatement.

''From day one, JB has made her feel like there's no one else in the world. He's the perfect gentleman, with impeccable manners and such an air of self-assurance. She's on cloud nine and happier than she's been in years.

''She was feeling like nothing would ever be good in her life again and JB has rebuilt her confidence.''
