British pop star Cheryl Cole has sparked rumours she is planning to launch her own cosmetics empire after trademarking her name for a variety of beauty products.

The former Girls Aloud singer has applied to officials at the U.K.'s Intellectual Property Office to trademark her name for use on more than 50 items, including perfume, deodorant, false nails, body lotion, toothpaste and talcum powder.

The application was lodged on 19 March (14), according to Britain's Daily Mirror newspaper, and has sparked rumours Cole is planning to launch her own beauty business.

Cole is already an ambassador for cosmetics giant L'Oreal.
