Beloved British comic Eddie Large was left fighting for his life after suffering a collapsed lung in a nasty fall.
The star, famous in his native U.K. for being one part of double act Little and Large, tripped over a road sign near his home in Bristol, England and suffered several nasty injuries, including broken ribs.
He was rushed to hospital and doctors discovered he had a collapsed lung, pancreatic problems and had contacted pneumonia, leaving him in a critical condition.
The 72 year is now recovering at Bristol Royal Infirmary and hopes to head home next week (begs18Nov13).
He says, "I was in critical care for a week and I was in a high dependency unit for another week. It was scary and it's really shaken me up. I should hopefully be out in the next week."
