Daniel Radcliffe - Daniel Radcliffe: 'I'll Leave Literature To Ginsberg And Rowling'
The young Brit, who portrays author Allen Ginsberg in new movie Kill Your Darlings, insists he doesn't share his latest character's writing passion - although he is a budding poet.
Radcliffe tells Wenn, "I wrote some poetry when I was younger. I still write poetry occasionally. When I was 17 I was really proud of those poems. I'm still proud of the 17-year-old me for writing them, but I don't think my work could quite stack up to Ginsberg's.
"I think I'm going to leave literature to J.K. Rowling. She's very good at it. I don't know that I would try to compete there.
"But I do want to write screenplays because I figure if I want to direct at some point it's probably easier to write something myself than convince somebody to give their work to a first-time director. So I'm trying my hand at that. (It's a ) long way off. I've still got lots to learn."
