David Gandy has put himself up for auction.

A date with the handsome British model will be rewarded to the highest bidder in aid of Battersea Cats & Dogs Home, giving one lucky fan the opportunity to walk a canine pal in the park in the company of the 33-year-old hunk when the auction opens at the end of this month on October 31.

David said: ''Giving fans the chance to walk a Battersea dog with someone they would like to meet, is a great way to do this and lots of well known people have come together to make it happen.''

The newly-single star is an avid lover of dogs and says he finds great ''pleasure'' in his role as an Ambassador for the London based rescue home.

He added: ''I can often be found at Battersea Dogs and Cats Home with the rescue dogs, visiting and helping out. As their Ambassador, I like to support however I can and to share this experience with someone and raise much needed funds at the same time, is a pleasure.''

The auction is part of the animal charity's annual Collars & Coats Gala Ball and comes after David was snapped cuddling a pooch in support of annual charity event, Pup Aid last month.

The star - who previously dated 'Les Miserables' actress Samantha Barks and The Saturdays singer Mollie King - has fronted high profile campaigns for the likes of Dolce & Gabbana and Hermes.
