David Hasselhoff - David Hasselhoff Shocked By Store Clerk Attack
David Hasselhoff has expressed his shock after a store clerk in Connecticut was seriously injured as he attempted to stop the theft of two advertising signs featuring the actor.
The 36 year old was working at a branch of Cumberland Farms in Shelton, Connecticut on Tuesday (20Aug13) when a man got out of a car and attempted to take down two cardboard cut-outs featuring Hasselhoff, which were part of his advertising campaign for an iced coffee drink.
The clerk was struck by the vehicle and dragged along the ground as it drove away and was admitted to hospital in a critical condition.
Hasselhoff has now reached out to the unnamed victim and expressed his disbelief over the shocking incident.
In a series of posts on Twitter.com, he writes, "I am shocked & truly saddened about the Cumberland Farms store clerk tragedy. My heartfelt thoughts and prayers are with him and his family!... Words cannot express how I feel at this moment please take a moment to say a prayer that he makes a full recovery!! Thank you... David."
Police have launched an investigation and are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
