Comedian David Walliams will host this year's British Fashion Awards.

The 'Little Britain' star, who is married to model Lara Stone, will take to the stage at the London Coliseum on December 2 to help celebrate the country's fashion talent.

The comic, 42, said: ''I'm thrilled to have been asked to present this year's British Fashion Awards.

''It's a wonderful way to recognise some of Britain's best talent and a night not to be missed!''

David is a member of the London Collections: Men committee and has been working with the British Fashion Council to raise the profile of the UK's menswear industry.

As well as being married to a model, with whom he has six-month-old sold Alfred, the 'Britain's Got Talent' judge appeared in a Comic Relief skit with a leather-clad Kate Moss.

British Fashion Council CEO Caroline Rush said: ''It's an honour to welcome David Walliams to the stage, a man behind one of Britain's best-loved characters, whose achievements and influence is far reaching.

''And whose charitable efforts and contributions to so many fields have been awarded by numerous landmark accolades and awards.

''A fantastic ambassador for the UK, it's with great pleasure we can announce that David is able to join us as this year's host for the British Fashion Awards.''
