Doug Liman is in talks to direct the movie version of video game 'Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell', which stars Tom Hardy as Special Agent, Sam Fisher.
The filmmaker - who recently worked on 'Edge Of Tomorrow' - is in negotiations to helm the project which is a movie version of video game 'Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell', according to reports.
Hardy is set for the lead role of Sam Fisher, a Special Agent in a fictional US Black Operatives team who battle against terrorists in the game's storyline.
Basil Iwanyk and Ubisoft Motion Pictures' Jean-Julien Baronnet will produce with Liman and Dave Bartis through Hypnotic.
Eric Singer - who wrote 2009 thriller 'The International', starring Clive Owen - is on board as screenwriter.
The first game was released in 2002, featuring a tie-in book. There have been six games. More than 23 million units of the game are thought to have been sold to date.
