The truck driver allegedly responsible for injuring comedian Tracy Morgan in a motor accident earlier this year (14) has filed legal papers to delay the federal lawsuit.

The former Saturday Night Live funnyman was left critically injured in June (14) when a limousine he was a passenger in collided with a Wal-Mart truck driven by Kevin Roper in New Jersey.

His good friend James 'Jimmy MACk' MCNair was killed in the crash, while Morgan sustained injuries including a broken leg, nose and ribs.

Morgan sued Wal-Mart officials for negligence, but on Friday (14Nov14), Roper's attorney David Glassman filed a motion to have the lawsuit put on hold until Roper's criminal case in New Jersey has concluded.

Although Roper is not named as a defendant in the lawsuit, there are allegations against him and Glassman does not want his client defending two actions at the same time.

Roper, who was accused of being sleep deprived at the time of the crash, pleaded not guilty to one count of death by auto and four counts of assault by auto earlier this year (14).

Morgan has not returned to work since the accident and his lawyer admits there are doubts about the future of his career.
