Eminem has joked he was too ''lazy'' to complete 'The Marshall Mathers LP 2'.

The 'Berzerk' released the follow up to 2010's 'Recovery' on Monday (11.11.13) and says it has taken three years to make because he was working on side projects.

He told France's NRJ radio: ''It's basically because I'm lazy that it took so long! Now that the album is done, I'm finally going to shower.

''I did the 'Recovery' album then I started working on some side projects for Shady Records, the label.

''I did some producing on a Yellow Wolf album and the Slaughterhouse album.

''I did a collaboration album with Royce tha '59 called Bad Meets Evil. In the middle of all that I was recording for this album.''

The rapper added the album is not a sequel but a ''revisitation'' of his third album, 'The Mashall Mathers LP', which is titled after his real name.

He added: ''I would describe the album as a revisitation of the 'Marshall Mathers' album, but a 2013 version of it, showing more of where I'm at now, with the same topics revisited. The exact same ... but very different.''

'The Marshall Mathers LP 2' is out now.
