A film poster featuring actress Eva Green in a saucy pose has been rejected by America's movie classification board because it is too sexy.

The Casino Royale star appears on the advertisement for Sin City sequel A Dame to Kill For, brandishing a gun and wearing a sheer bathrobe which clearly displays her breasts.

Officials at the Motion Picture Association of America (Mpaa) have disapproved of the image due to "nudity - curve of under breast and dark nipple/areola circle visible through sheer gown".

A spokesperson for the thriller's distributor Dimension Films declined to comment but it is thought executives will work with Mpaa members to find a compromise, according to New York Post gossip column Page Six.

Sin City: A Dame to Kill For also stars Jessica Alba, Mickey Rourke and Joseph Gordon-Levitt, and will hit cinemas in August (14).
