Boxer floyd mayweather, Jr. has beaten soccer stars Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi to the top of a new sports rich list.

The undefeated 37-year-old has topped the new Forbes magazine poll to find the highest-paid athletes on the planet for the second time in three years.

Mayweather, Jr.'s $105 million (Gbp66 million) fortune gives him the edge over Ronaldo ($80 million) at two and basketball superstar LeBron James at three ($72.3 million).

Soccer superstar Messi and Los Angeles Lakers icon Kobe Bryant round out the top five with $60 million (Gbp37.5 million)-plus fortunes.
