Ford Models is giving one aspiring model the chance to walk for Chanel.

The agency's new contest called #walkwithkarl will also give the lucky newcomer the opportunity to take part in a Fendi catwalk show, as well as offering them a modelling contract.

The wannabe model is then going to be photographed by Chanel designer Karl Lagerfeld himself for a shoot published in V magazine, before heading off to book jobs in the fashion capitals of Milan and Paris.

The advert for the competition, which can be found on scouting.fordmodels.com, reads: ''THOUSANDS WILL ENTER ONE WILL WIN.

''V MAGAZINE AND FORD MODELS ARE PROUD TO ANNOUNCE THE SEARCH FOR THE NEXT FACE OF FASHION.''

Karl has a busy few months coming up since he was recently recruited by Louis Vuitton to help design a special edition of their signature logo for a collection of bags to celebrate their 160th anniversary.

Along with the 80-year-old star, designers Marc Newson, Christian Louboutin and Rei Kawakubo, photographer Cindy Sherman, and architect Frank Gehry have been enlisted to collaborate on the collection, which will only be available for a few months from mid-October.
