Frank Sinatra will be posthumously honoured at the 2015 Los Angeles Italia Film, Fashion and Art Fest to mark the centenary of his birth.

Ol' Blue Eyes would have celebrated his 100th birthday on 12 December, 2015, and, in celebration of his legacy, officials behind the annual event have decided to remember the legendary singer and actor with a retrospective of his movie work.

Screenings include Sinatra's Oscar-winning performance in 1953's From Here To Eternity, The Man With The Golden Arm, Guys and Dolls, The Manchurian Candidate and Ocean's 11.

He will also be feted with a series of dedicated musical performances.

Singer Tony Renis, who is serving as the festival's honorary president, says, "Sinatra was extremely proud of his Italian heritage.

"In particular, we intend to highlight a lesser known aspect of Sinatra's great personality - his involvement as a human rights activist during the '50s, alongside his close friend Sammy Davis Jr., and throughout his life, he was committed to assisting children and families in need."

The Los Angeles Italia Film, Fashion and Art Fest takes place in Hollywood from 15 to 21 February (15).

Sinatra died in 1998.
